BTW, I can't see Leo Gomez cards without thinking of Jon Miller: "LAY-o Gomez".

ashmidt - I should have clarified. I said Christopher was the first "everyday" Met to hit .300...he was the first one with 500+ at bats to do it.

Marc - I've read some interviews. He seems quite calm. ;-)Kevinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01334533396646438555noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6766775162963853142.post-35549050806833878812011-03-14T10:18:26.961-04:002011-03-14T10:18:26.961-04:00Since he worked in an ad agency, does that make hi...Since he worked in an ad agency, does that make him a "Mad Man?"Marcnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6766775162963853142.post-49113061566087756662011-03-12T11:58:44.059-05:002011-03-12T11:58:44.059-05:00Anon... those were the 1965 Topps Embossed inserts...Anon... those were the 1965 Topps Embossed inserts. It didn't give a very good impression of what he looked liked. I can't remember if topps put this out or one of the other card companies at the time. His card is only one of this type I remember. Any one remember these cards.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6766775162963853142.post-32488763944079386912011-03-11T17:35:26.753-05:002011-03-11T17:35:26.753-05:00Every time I hear Joe Christopher's name I thi...Every time I hear Joe Christopher's name I think of Met TV/Radio announcer Bob Murphy. He just had a unique way with certain names and phrases. I'm no Met fan but I always liked their broadcasts. Murphy, Lindsey Nelson and Ralph Kiner were a good group.Commishbobhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18069472376708715755noreply@blogger.com
